Working on Woody Allen's new movie Blue Jasmine was a real test for Cate Blanchett - because she was convinced she was about to get fired throughout the shoot.
The actress agreed to return to film acting after a hiatus spent in the theatre because the project gave her the chance to work with one of her heroes - but she had no idea it would be such an emotional job.
She tells Wenn, "I haven't made a movie for a while, so I've been out of this environment for almost six years. My husband and I run the Sydney Theater Company. I did this to work with Woody.
"I love (co-star) Sally (Hawkins) and she was a great ally. The first week we cried into our beers together. We thought, 'We're really screwing this up!' You just assume he's (Allen) going to fire you and then you make day 13 and you're doing well and you make day 20, you make the end of the movie."
