Woody Allen fears his film-making prowess may be declining after his latest movie received scathing reviews. London-set SCOOP - starring Scarlett Johansson - has been critically panned and Allen is the first to admit his screen offering falls far below his usual high standards. Since opening in the US on Friday (28JUL06) critics have branded the film "feeble" and "lackadaisical" while the Washington Post calls it "the worst movie Woody Allen has ever made." Allen admits, "I'm not so great as I thought, or hoped, I'd be. "I was sad when I faced up to that."
