See You Again, which co-writer Charlie Puth recently confessed took just minutes to write, has toppled Uptown Funk! after zooming up the charts from 10 to one.

The hit, which appears at the end of the world's top film, Furious 7, has given the film a stranglehold on the U.S. box office, album and singles charts, becoming Khalifa's second Hot 100 number one.

Uptown Funk slides to two on the new countdown, while Maroon 5's Sugar also falls a spot to number three.

Meanwhile, the Furious 7 soundtrack has raced past the competition to take pole position on the U.S. album chart.

The compilation, featuring See You Again, switched gears and moves up a spot from last week's number two on the Billboard 200, thanks to second-week sales of 111,000.

The soundtrack beat All Time Low's new release, Future Hearts, to the top, while the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack returns to the top three.

Maroon 5's V climbs 11 to four on the new countdown and Taylor Swift rounds out the top five for a fifth straight week with 1989. The album hasn't left the top five since it was released 24 weeks ago.
