Country music legend Willie Nelson is endorsing Republican U.S. presidential candidate Gary Johnson after meeting with the former Governor of New Mexico and discussing his marijuana bill.
Johnson hopes to legalise the drug and use proceeds from weed sales to boost America's fortunes - by taxing it.
And Nelson, who has been arrested many times for marijuana possession, likes what he hears. He announced he would be endorsing the politician on Tuesday (17May11).
On hearing the news, Johnson said, "Not only is Willie a superstar talent, but he is a strong advocate for social change, as seen through his tireless work on behalf of family-owned farms and hard working Americans.
"People across this country are demanding the freedom and opportunity to pursue their dreams without interference from a heavy-handed government, and Willie and I stand together to lend our voices to those demands."
