Animal-loving country legend Willie Nelson is lending his name to another good cause - the bid to make dog fighting illegal. The singer has filmed a TV advertisement in support of an anti-dog fighting bill currently moving through the Georgia Legislature, just weeks after marching on Washington, D.C, to protest against the inhumane treatment of horses. The anti-dog fighting commercial sees Nelson telling viewers, "Dog fighting is against the law in Georgia, but the laws are so weak, the beautiful state of Georgia has become a haven for dog fighters from around the country." The bill would make it a felony for anyone in the state to sell, trade or transport dogs for the purpose of dog fighting. The bill is set to go before a House committee in January next year (08).
