William Shatner Has Created A Piece Of Art In Tribute To His Late Star Trek Castmate Leonard Nimoy Using Pictures Of Fans To Make Up A Special Portrait Of The Actor.
The actor, who played Captain James T. Kirk in the sci-fi franchise, asked devotees to send him images of themselves showing off the 'Vulcan salute' hand gesture made famous by Nimoy as Mr. Spock, and he pooled them into a collage which recreates a picture of his friend in character.
Shatner published a picture of the mosaic-style piece on his Twitter.com page and revealed the project has been submitted to bosses at the Guinness Book of World Records to find out if the collage is a record-breaker.
He writes, "Why did I ask for all those... selfies? For a... task as a tribute to Leonard. Thank you!... We put this in for a World Record! Fingers crossed!... There are over 6,000 images in the Spock mosaic. I want to thank (my colleagues) for their help in this..."
