Movie star Willem Dafoe has nightmares in which he dies because he passes away so often on the big screen.

The PLATOON star is so determined to play dead authentically that he puts a lot of work into dying scenes and fears those moments re-appear in morbid dreams.

He explains, "It's a little creepy to die so much in movies because it is pretending, but you're going through the motions so something does rub off.

"It enters your subconscious and it affects you. If you're working everyday on location and you don't have much of a life outside of the film then the reality of the day is going to spill over and it informs your dreams and that happens a lot."
