Will Smith is in talks to star in a big screen adaptation of author Marcus Sakey's bestseller Brilliance.

The Men In Black star is in negotiations to play a federal agent, one of a rare set of people born with extraordinary abilities, called "brilliants", who is tasked with hunting down a terrorist with similar abilities to prevent him from starting a civil war.

Mission: Impossible screenwriter David Koepp has been developing the script, which Don't Look Back filmmaker Julius Onah will direct.
