Rockers including Whitesnake and Rob Zombie have filed suit against record label executives in a dispute over royalty payments.
Zombie, his band White Zombie, 1980s rock group Whitesnake and singer-songwriter Dave Mason have all filed suit against bosses at Universal Music Group (Umg), alleging they are owed money from digital download and ringtone sales.
The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court in San Francisco, California last Wednesday (18May11).
A Umg spokesman tells Variety.com the complaint "suffers from serious flaws and weaknesses... We will vigorously defend against it."
The website reports the rock stars are seeking unspecified damages in the tens of millions of dollars.
