Rock titans THE White Stripes are set to appear alongside a host of stars from the worlds of music and film in a new movie by cult New York director JIM JARMUSCH.

The SEVEN NATION ARMY rockers will play themselves in the feature-length collection of self-contained vignettes, alongside Iggy Pop, Tom Waits, STEVE BUSCEMI, TOM WAITS, Alfred Molina and British comedy king Steve Coogan.

Coogan says, "It's very naturalistic, semi-improvised dialogue. All the people play themselves in it and I play Steve Coogan, this British comedian who's in New York and wants to try and break into America."

Jarmusch began directing Coffee and Cigarettes in 1986, and he already has three of the short sequences in the can.
