Fans of seminal musical West Side Story are finally being given the chance to hear lead star Natalie Wood's real singing voice.

Producers of the 1961 multi-OSCAR winning film used the over-dubbed vocals of MARNIE NIXON - who also replaced Audrey Hepburn and Deborah Kerr's efforts in My Fair Lady and THE KING AND I respectively - for the cinematic version of the musical.

However, a special DVD edition of the flick is now being released with Wood's singing talents restored - and sources reassure fans they'll be impressed with the results.

One insider says, "Marnie sang beautifully but fans of Natalie are in for a real treat."
