Actor Wesley Snipes credits his wife with saving his life on 9/11 because he was in Los Angeles with their newborn daughter when the horror unfolded.
The Blade star's apartment in Manhattan, New York was destroyed when the World Trade Center collapsed, but the star and his wife Nikki escaped unscathed as they were in California for the birth of their daughter Iset Jua-T Snipes.
Snipes believes he and Nikki owe their lives to their daughter as they would have still been in their New York home if she hadn't been born.
Snipes tells Britain's The Guide, "We lost a place, but my daughter was born at the same time. We were taking care of her in Los Angeles, because there's a tradition that you don't travel with a newborn. So, literally, we were lying in bed, and my sister called me and said, 'Turn on the Tv.' Our daughter's lying there between us, and I looked over at my lady and said, 'Baby, our place is gone!' I just turned to my daughter and started kissing her. 'That's why you came, my girl. You saved our lives... you're a lifesaver!'"
Almost 3,000 victims were killed in New York, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania on 11 September, 2001 when terrorists hijacked passenger planes and crashed them into major landmarks.
