Wayne Rooney entertained revellers at a Manchester pub this week, singing a rendition of Ed Sheeran's Lego House with the man himself. Rooney was attending Sheeran's after-party at the Sir Ralph Abercromby pub near Deansgate, following a 15,000 sell-out gig in the city.

Rooney, who was joined by Robin Van Persie at the pub, was urged on by Sheeran fans as he sat on the stage.

One eye-witness told The Sun: "Everyone was singing along and laughing but he showed he can take a joke.

"It was like a normal group of mates messing about in a pub but I'd definitely advise him not give up the day job."

Pub landlord Mike Christodoulou said: "Ed pulled out his guitar and him and Wayne had a little sing-song - it was good vibes all round."

We already know that Rooney fancies himself as a bit of singer. In 2011, he was filmed performing a seven-song karaoke set while on holiday with his wife and kids in Barbados. The Manchester United star performed Queen's 'We Are The Champions' and 'Yesterday' by the Beatles.

He later tweeted: "Having a great night in Barbados! In lexys piano bar with ColeenRoo and friends. Been on the mic for about 7 songs and felt like a rock star."

Sheeran appears to be the toast of the Premier League at the moment. Just last week, referee Mark Clattenburg was dropped the top flight's fixture list after breaking protocol to travel to an Ed Sheeran gig alone. Arsenal defender Calum Chambers has also been spotted attending one of the singe-songwriter's gigs.
