The Emmy winner is set to take over the role of drag performer Lola when Billy Porter, who originated the part, takes his final bow in November (15) after three years as the lead.

Brady shared his excitement for his new venture in a statement which reads: "I'm thrilled to join the Kinky Boots family and unleash my inner Lola. It's the role of a lifetime! Billy and his prodigious talent have left some pretty big red boots for me to fill. Starring in a Broadway show of this caliber (sic) has been my dream since I started performing at age 16. I'm ready to jump in with both feet!"

Brady was last on the Great White Way in 2004, when he took on the role of Billy Flynn in long-running show Chicago.

Kinky Boots, based on the 2005 film of the same name, won six Tony awards when it opened on Broadway in 2013, including best actor for Porter and Best Original Score for pop star Cyndi Lauper, who composed the music and lyrics for the production.
