Vondelpark's new single, 'Hipbone' is taken from their new EP 'nyc bags and nyc stuff', which has been released on 12'' through R&S Records. It follows on from their debut EP, 'Sauna'.
'Hipbone' mixes overlapping, plantive vocals with hypnotic and mournful instruments. The video, which was made by Ciaran Wood, is every bit as abstract and melodic as the song.
Vondelpark are a three piece band based in Surrey, whose members are: Lewis Rainsbury, Alex Bailey and Matt Law. The name comes from a small park in Amsterdam. Vondelpark were formed during a trip to LA in 2010. Their first EP, 'Sauna' was recorded in their own homes and consists of minimal guitars and beats that have been described as 'cut and paste'.
Their second EP, 'nyc bags and nyc stuff' is as abstract as the first and consists of five tracks: 'TV', 'Feat b', 'Camels', 'Hipbone' and 'Outro 4 nyc'.
