Not to be confused with the ridge on the south side of Wharfedale, overlooking the town of Otley, the other Leeds-based The Chevin are actually a quartet of rather talented chaps about to make a big splash into the pool of rising UK talent.
'Blue Eyes' is the latest release we have from the four-some, and offers just about everything you could want to expect from a band that are looking to rejuvenate the world of contemporary rock. With its bubbling verses eventually exploding into the euphoric chorus, they are here to fill the void left in reputable rock music since the bygone glory days of the late 90's and early 2000's.
Director Ian Gamester takes the group, and a young bit player, back to their roots in the scenic northern part of the Yorkshire city, mixing a studio performance with a childhood stroll through the rural quarter. It mixes youthful exuberance and nostalgia from summers past impeccably with the studio footage, and translates from sound to visuals skilfully.
Already hotly tipped by other musical press as one of the ones to watch and one of the more promising 'Sounds of 2012', The Chevin should be hovering above the radars of any self-respecting music fan today.
The single will become available to download through iTunes on August 6th and will be supporting its release with a handful of festival appearances in the summer, notably T in the Park.
