Penguin Prison - Don't F**k With My Money
Penguin Prison's new single, Don't F**k With My Money, is taken from his self titled album, which was released on September 5th, 2011. It is the second single from the well received album, following on from Fair Warning, which was released in July of this year.
Although the song was written by Penguin Prison a while ago, the timing for the video could not have been more convenient. We see Penguin Prison - real name Chris Glover - on the streets of his native New York, running amidst the crowds of the Occupy Wall Street protests. The bouncy singer even gets various members of the public singing along - including a disgruntled cop.
Penguin Prison studied at the prestigious schools Bard College and the Professional Performing Arts School, the latter alongside R&B sensation Alicia Keys, who, according to Glover, was the most mature student in the class. The pair would regularly sing in the gospel choir together.
Glover's debut single, Animal Animal, was released on Neon Gold in 2009. As well as releasing singles, Glover would be remixing other singles from artists such as Jamiroquai; Goldfrapp and Marina and the Diamonds. Animal Animal was well received in the UK and Glover has since received support from DJs such as Zane Lowe and Nick Grimshaw.
Penguin Prison will be releasing more original material in 2012.
