English singer songwriter Alice Gold's new single, 'End of the World', will be released on August 29th and is taken from her debut album, 'Seven Rainbows', which was released on July 4th through Fiction Records. The album was produced by Dan Carey, who has also produced for the likes of Lily Allen, Franz Ferdinand and Hot Chip, as well as pop princess Kylie Minogue.
The video was directed by Michael Holyk and sees Alice walking through a series of doors, each room featuring a different background and scene. One room is black and has candles on the floor, while one features a fire breather. In each room, Alice wears a different outfit. The video complements the catchy pop song perfectly.
Alice Gold's previous singles, 'Orbiter' (released in April 2010) and 'Runaway Love' (released in April 2011) have both received critical acclaim, with the latter being chosen for BBC Radio 2's A-Playlist.
Alice Gold has previously toured with Eels; Noah and the Whale; Athlete and Band of Skulls. In 2010, she was shortlisted by music magazine Q for their 'Next Big Thing' award. She announced a series of UK dates throughout the summer, which are listed below:
