Musical Memorial Set For Jani Lane

Warrant star Jani Lane's musical legacy will be celebrated at a special memorial show on Saturday (11Aug12), exactly one year after his death.

The 47-year-old singer was found dead in a Los Angeles hotel room on 11 August, 2011 and toxicology tests showed he succumbed to alcohol poisoning.

His close family and friends subsequently remembered the late rocker at a private service, and now his musical pals are staging their own memorial in Akron, Ohio on Saturday, according to Cleveland.com.

Billy Morris - who played with Lane in Warrant - will perform at the tribute show with his band Cleveland's Breakfast Club, and he's promised to honour the star's musical legacy.

Judge To Decide Jani Lane's Legacy

The fate of Warrant star Jani Lane's fortune will be decided by a court judge as the rocker died without leaving a will.

The 47-year-old singer was found dead in a Los Angeles hotel room in August (11) and toxicology tests showed he succumbed to alcohol poisoning.

Court documents filed in connection with the late star's estate have now revealed Lane didn't leave a will and his eldest daughter has filed paperwork asking for the court system to appoint an executor, according to Tmz.com.

Lane's estate is said to be worth around $600,000 (£375,000) and could potentially be shared out between his wife and two daughters.

Warrant Star: 'We Tried To Keep Lane Sober'

Warrant guitarist Erik Turner has opened up about Jani Lane's recent death from alcohol poisoning, revealing the rockers tried in vain to keep the former frontman sober.

The 47-year-old singer, who fronted the band between 1986 and 2004 as well as during a brief reunion in 2008, was found dead in a Los Angeles hotel room in August (11) and toxicology tests showed he suffered "acute ethanol poisoning".

His former bandmate Turner has now opened up about Lane's long struggle with addiction, insisting the rockers did everything they could to help him during their 2008 comeback.

Turner reveals they hired an addiction expert to help Lane during their tour and banned alcohol while they were on the road, but "it was so bad that the sober coach quit. He said there was nothing that he could do."

Former Warrant singer Jani Lane died as a result of alcohol poisoning, according to a coroner's toxicology report.

The rocker's body was discovered at the Comfort Inn hotel in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles on 11 August (11).

An initial autopsy examination proved inconclusive but now toxicology results suggest he suffered from "acute ethanol poisoning", according to Tmz.com.

Police reportedly found a half-empty bottle of vodka and prescription medication in Lane's hotel room.

Rockers Reunite For Jani Lane Tribute Show

A string of rock bands are reuniting for a concert in honour of late former Warrant star Jani Lane.

The body of the 47 year old was discovered at the Comfort Inn hotel in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles on 11 August (11), and his death prompted an outpouring of grief from stars including Slash and Nikki Sixx.

Now several old school bands, including Great White, Quiet Riot and Enuff Z'nuff, are coming together to stage a memorial gig for Lane, according to Tmz.com.

The free concert will take place at the Key Club in Hollywood on 29 August (11), with fans and friends invited to "come and celebrate the life and times of Jani Lane".

Warrant Plan Concert Tribute To Late Lane

Heavy rockers Warrant are planning to pay tribute to late former frontman Jani Lane at a concert in North Dakota on Friday night (12Aug11).

The group will pause before performing Heaven, the hit Lane wrote in the late 1980s, and remember the singer, who was found dead on Thursday (11Aug11) in a California hotel.

Guitarist Erik Turner tells Tmz.com, "We never thought that when the song Heaven was written we would be playing it someday in the memory of Jani's untimely death. This is a very sad day for rock 'n' roll."

The tragic star's former bandmates released a statement on Friday, calling Lane "a very important part of our lives for a long time".

Tragic rock star Jani Lane's former bandmates in Warrant have paid tribute to the late singer, calling him a "true talent".

Lane was found dead in a Woodland Hills, California hotel room on Thursday night (11Aug11).
