The Walt Disney Co., like other film studios, has never been able to develop an effective video game division. When it acquired Lucasfilm last year, one of its first acts was to shut down the LucasArts game unit. However, on Monday it announced that it will partner with Electronic Arts, one of the most successful games developers, to create a series of games based on the Star Wars franchise. The companies said that the EA products will be aimed at The Core gaming audience although Disney itself will produce casual titles primarily for mobile devices and social media. Every developer dreams of creating games for the Star Wars universe, said EA's Frank Gibeau. Three of our top studios will fulfill that dream, crafting epic adventures for Star Wars fans.
