Country singer Wade Hayes is set to make his first public appearance since undergoing chemotherapy at a cancer benefit in Tennessee next month (Mar12).
The musician was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer late last year (11) and he's been undergoing treatment to combat the disease over the last few weeks.
However, Hayes appears to be well on his way to recovery and he's now due to show off his support for fellow patients by performing at the annual Stars Go Blue for Colon Cancer concert at Nashville's Country Music Hall of Fame on the 6 March (12).
In a post on his Facebook.com page, he writes, "Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers. They must be working because I’m gonna get to play for the first time since all this started. I’ll be playing at the Stars Go Blue Benefit Concert for the Colon Cancer Alliance. 80% of the proceeds will be donated to the Blue Note Fund. Come see us if you can. I’m still fighting this thing, so hoping I can still pick (play)!"
The Blue Note Fund offers small grants to colon cancer patients in need.
