Viola Davis is convinced her marriage was a match made in heaven because the actress prayed for a perfect mate just weeks before meeting her husband.
The Help star was so desperate to meet Mr. Right she turned to God in the hope of divine intervention, and her dream man came along less than a month later.
Davis tells the New York Post's gossip column Page Six, "I was the loneliest woman in the world, and someone said, 'You should just pray for a husband.'"
The actress followed her pal's advice and prayed for her ideal boyfriend to come into her life.
She recalls, "I said I wanted a big black man from the South who looked like a football player, who already had children, who maybe had been married before... three-and-a-half weeks later I met my husband."
In 2003, Davis married actor Julius Tennon, who played American football in college, and the couple adopted a daughter last year (12).
