The reported on-set tensions between Furious 8 stars Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Vin Diesel seem to be continuing throughout the movie’s press tour, with new reports suggesting that the studio is having to keep them apart.

When Diesel was promoting the new film at CinemaCon this week, Johnson’s absence was noted upon, particularly as he was also at the convention on Tuesday promoting his other new movies, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Baywatch.

“They're keeping them separated as much as possible,” an insider told The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday (March 30th), intimating that the feud that started last year was still ongoing.

The beef between the two blockbuster action stars apparently began at the end of the filming of Furious 8 last summer, when Johnson took to Facebook to seemingly have a swipe at the conduct of his colleague.

“My female co-stars are always amazing, and I love 'em,” he wrote. “My male co-stars however are a different story.” He added that some were “chicken s**t” and “candy a**es”.

When the initial bust-up happened six months ago during filming back in August, a studio source said: “What happened is over, and no one expects there to be any lingering effects. When it comes time to promote the movie, this will have no bearing.”

Interestingly, the next time the two are contracted to appear together will be the red carpet premiere of the film on April 8th in New York City.

The movie, known as Fast and Furious 8 in the United Kingdom, is released on April 14th. Directed by F. Gary Gray, it sees Diesel and Johnson reunite alongside Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson and Jason Statham, with Charlize Theron and Helen Mirren being newcomers to the cast.
