Leeds five-piece The Seagulls have unveiled a rather film noir like short movie for their new single 'Girl You Must Be Dreaming', released ahead of their debut studio album which is scheduled for July 25th 2015.
Shot at The Elbow Room, the video features some staff and patrons of a bar playing cards and pool, and drinking whisky. Alice the Barmaid is deeply uncomfortable by the bar manager Don's persistent advances, though it's clear by the bruise on her face that she rarely stands up for herself. Until the final act, where she walks free after smashing a bottle over his head. There's a looming sense of revenge throughout the visual, made all the more effective by the almost monotonous rock n' roll sound of the track, which utilizes vocal harmonies, hearty drums and melodic guitar licks to a dark, Baroque pop effect.
