When two pairs of brothers aged between sixteen and twenty-one grow up listening to The Strokes and The Ramones, they might very well turn into The Jacques. Fin, Elliot, Oliver and Jake have been hard at work on their debut EP 'Pretty DJ', released by Libertines drummer Gary Powell's record label, 25 Hour Convenience.
The Jacques chose a very retro inspired music video for 'Pretty DJ', as it takes place in black and white with an old fashioned film-grain filter overlaid. It depicts the band performing and messing around at a bowling alley, with a strong emphasis on Polaroid cameras. This is intercut with footage of the Jacques getting food and assembling their photographs in order.
The EP was recorded at Rockfield Studios, after being signed to 24 Hour Convenience. This record deal came after the band was seen performing by Gary Powell at Hyde Park, when The Jacques were supporting The Libertines on stage. The 'Pretty DJ' EP was released on 3rd November, 2014, followed by the band going on tour throughout November and December.
