Nneka's new single, Stay, is taken from her new album, Soul Is Heavy, which is out early next year on Decon Records. Stay is the third single from the album, following on from My Home and Soul Is Heavy. Nneka is currently embarking on a European tour which will see her play Dingwalls in London.
Nneka was born in Nigeria to a Nigerian father and a German mother. She relocated to Hamburg at the age of eighteen, where she pursued a singing career while working on a degree in Anthropology. Nneka now divides her time between Nigeria and Germany.
Since her debut album, Victim of Truth, was released in 2005, Nneka has since opened for a number of people, including Sean Paul, Gnarls Barkley and Damian Marley, whose father Bob Marley Nneka cites as an inspiration. Nneka has played 150 concerts and performed in front of almost 500,000 people altogether, including performances at SXSW and Glastonbury.
