Gary Barlow - Sing Featuring The Commonwealth Band & Military Wives

The Official Diamond Jubilee song co-written by pop icon Gary Barlow and renowned musical theatre composer Andrew Lloyd Webber has been revealed to the public. 'Sing', performed by Gary Barlow and The Commonwealth Band featuring Military Wives Choir, will be one of seven tracks listed on the commemorative jubilee album to be released on May 28th 2012 on Decca records.

Gareth Malone and his Military Wives Choir will lead the Commonwealth Band in the Diamond Jubilee concert on June 4th after being selected following their success Christmas Number 1 and Number 1 album. The Commonwealth Band is comprised of 210 musicians from across the globe including the African Children's Choir, Slum Drummers from Kenya, Aboriginal guitarist Gurrumul and the Jamaican Jolly Boys.

Gary Barlow and Andrew Lloyd Webber were approached by Buckingham Palace to record the song and so Gary travelled the Commonwealth recording musicians on his laptop before mixing the recordings at Abbey Road Studios. 'We went on a journey with this record, meeting and recording with some beautifully talented singers and musicians', said Gary. 'I'm very proud of the result and hope people enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed making it.'

'Sing' received its first airplay on Chris Evans' BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show on Friday.
