Brooklyn quintet Friends have received a brilliant response with their three singles prior to the release of their debut album 'Manifest!' on Lucky Number record label earlier this month. The band, made up of singer Samantha Urbani, drummer Oliver Duncan and multi-instrumentalists Lesley Hann, Nikki Shapiro and Matthew Molnar, self-produced the album which included their third single 'Mind Control' - dubbed the Hottest Record in the World by Zane Lowe on Radio 1.

Contactmusic.com spoke to the self-confessed pop (or 'exploration pop') band's vocalist Samantha at London's Field Day festival to discuss the recording of their debut, the true genre behind their sound and suffering an injured ankle at Spain's Primavera Sound festival.
