Grammy award-winning producer Evidence releases his second solo album, 'Cats & Dogs' on October 10th, his first with his new record label, 'Rhymesayers Entertainment' (Atmosphere; MF Doom; Brother Ali).
The video for new single 'You' (the first to be released from the new album) was directed by Todd Angkasuwan. It sees Evidence standing against the wall of an inner city house, moving cardboard cut-outs of him and filling in silhouettes of him making various hand gestures. This original looking video is one you come to expect from a rapper but it is still very interesting to watch.
Evidence is one third of the hip-hop group Dilated Peoples, who rose to fame with their 2004 collaboration with Kanye West and Xzibit, 'This Way', which entered the UK Top 40 charts. Although the group have had little success in the mainstream US charts, they are widely known on the underground hip-hop circuit. Evidence also worked with Kanye behind the scenes, helping him produce his 4 years in the making debut, 'The College Dropout', alongside West himself and another hip-hop heavyweight, Jay-Z.
The Rhymesayers European Tour, featuring Evidence, will be performing at the Electric Ballroom, London, on November 7th.
