Dodie aka Dorothy Clark has gone from YouTube star to legit touring artist over the last few years and her new song 'Secret For The Mad' certainly proves that she's more than just a vlogger.
The 22-year-old singer-songwriter teamed up with director and freelance animator Hannah Jacobs on her latest video project, which sees a lone woman flying a kite in a field, before being surrounded by other people flying their own kites. There's an innocent beauty about it, which is the perfect showcase of Dodie's aesthetic.
'Secret For The Mad' featured on her second EP release entitled 'You', which peaked at number 6 in the UK last year. In 2017 she also toured across the UK for her debut EP 'Intertwined' with support from Rusty Clanton, before later supporting 'You' with another tour. She was joined by fellow YouTuber and guitarist Orla Gartland on both sets of live shows.
Speaking of which, Dodie - who last year won the Shorty Award for Best YouTube Musician and the Summer in the City Breakthrough Award - will hit the road again in February and March, reaching Brussels, Belfast, Dublin, Birmingham, Cardiff and London.
'Smalls Change (Meditations Upon Ageing)' arrives in April.
The two awards have made for a great 72nd birthday present for the country music icon.
