Carousels and Limousines are a rock band from Bath, England who have unveiled a moving video about child labour for their single 'Greasy Hands' taken from their debut album 'Home To Andy's' released on Pulteney Records.
The black and white video begins with a short message from vocalist and Josh Hartnett lookalike Sam Gotley about the plight of some children in developing worlds and their denial of freedom in cases of child labour where they may have suffered extreme poverty, abuse and kidnapping. We then see a small child stood on the end of a pier before that cuts away to images of them writing, playing and learning guitar i.e. normal childhood activities. The video ends back at the pier with the child apparently committing suicide by tying a weight to their ankle and leaping into the ocean. It's definitely a tear-jerker, with the spine-chilling lyrics and mournful tone providing a great finish to an important story that needs to be told.
The band; who are vocalist Sam Gotley, bassist Finn McNulty, guitarist Jamie Wales and drummer Martyn James; have several live dates coming up in the UK and are also set to unveil a new EP later this year.
