Born Blonde - I Just Wanna Be

Born Blonde are a 5 strong west London band that are the ultimate definition of retro music. They are to release their latest single 'I Just Wanna Be' on July 16th 2012 with Moriarty The Cat Records. The record includes B-side 'Dreamland'.

To coincide with its release is an appropriate video featuring a man in a spacesuit walking through the city of London which matches the space-rock/ 60s psychedelic/ 80s sound perfectly. It is directed by Oliver Hadlee Pearch and Born Blonde bassist Josh Lloyd-Watson. The track is awash with depth and profound themes of escapism and freedom. 'The best songs are written in a sort of meditation', says vocalist Arthur Delaney, 'like you're running on a different neurone path in your head somewhere between speaking and dreaming.'

Their 2011 singles 'Solar' and 'Radio Bliss' achieved much critical acclaim and positive feedback. Puregroove.co.uk have commented 'their hypnotic, trippy alt rock is sounding pretty sublime to us' and, not dissimilarly, The Guardian dubbed them 'Most likely to trip out' and 'Least likely to trip up' essentially asserting confidence in the unique 5 piece. We will soon find out if they're right with the upcoming release of their debut album this year.
