Psychedelic pop band Beaty Heart are here with a bizarre but captivating new single called 'Seafood' set for released on April 8th 2013 through Heart Throb Records.
The video for this unique track features the band feasting on a banquet of colourful, odd-looking food that looks particularly inedible. The band have described the shenanigans as a 'midnight meal gone bad' with inspiration from the food fight in 'Hook'. The song itself is also very vibrant, with the energy of classic calypso and reggae tunes; the slow percussion, and simple, up-tempo melody teamed with some unique vocal work really sells to the listener as the warmer seasons approach.
Band member Charlie Rotberg explained their rather unusual concept behind the song. 'We wanted to capture that awkward feeling of being hungry yet disgusted at the same time, when your stomach churns and you can't tell whether you're starving or sick', he said. 'Seafood' will be also soon be released in the limited amount of 100 cassettes in April, so make sure you buy yours. The single launch will take place the day after release on April 9th at White Heat, Madame Jojo's in London in the middle of their current string of UK tour dates.
