When a family of brown bears emerge from their cosy haven after spending the bitter winter in hibernation, they face an unpredictable and dangerous journey through the glorious snowy mountains of Alaska. Mother bear Skye's two little cubs are unaware of the dangers they may soon face, from rival male bears and predatory wolves to life-threatening avalanches, as they frolic in the snow on their way down the mountains while Skye works hard to show them how to find food, which mostly consists of salmon from the rivers. The cubs have some very important lessons to learn about survival and playing safe but, on the way, they are taught the most significant lesson of all; that of love and the meaning of family.
'Bears' is the adorable new nature documentary from Disneynature, featuring the heart-warming adventures of a close family, due out next year in celebration of Earth Day. Directed by Alastair Fothergill ('Chimpanzee', 'Planet Earth', 'Deep Blue') and Keith Scholey who worked on 'African Cats' together in 2011, the film was shot at the beautiful Katmai National Park in the US state of Alaska. It is set to be released four days before Earth Day on April 18th 2014.
