The VH1 Storytellers series has set its sights on some of America's biggest-selling female artists. Taylor Swift, Pink and Alicia Keys will all be getting the Storytellers treatment. The show features artists performing their songs, in front of an intimate audience, as well as giving insightful interviews about their life story as well as sharing details about their careers, their songs and their lyrics.
Taylor ,Pink and Alicia will soon be joining the ranks of Mary J Blige, Coldplay, Elton John and Christina Aguilera, who have all taken part in the show before. Pink told Entertainment Weekly "I have always loved 'Storytellers' and, as a songwriter, how much fun it is to be able to tell your stories;" she then added 'with a wink': "everyone has heard mine before!" The first of the Storytellers series will feature Taylor Swift, who this week broke the record for the highest number of paid downloads in a week for her song 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.' Swift's episode of the show will air on November 11, 2012. The Pink and Alicia Keys episodes will then air the consecutive two days. The shows will also be streamed on the Storytellers website.
Taylor Swift has also announced that she intends to film her Storytellers show at a US high school or college. The institution will be chosen through a contest hosted on her website. In addition to the winning school hosting the concert, the top five schools will receive a grant of $10,000 for their music departments.
