Vanessa Hudgens has revealed she was fine having to kiss co-star Ashley Benson for crime thriller 'Spring Breakers' because she was ''comfortable'' with her female friend.
She told Independent Radar magazine: ''I'd rather kiss Ashley than kiss James to be honest - because she's a girl and I was close to her and I felt comfortable.
''So I was like, 'Yeah, I'll kiss Ashley!' ''
Despite being comfortable with stepping away from her wholesome image in the movie, Vanessa admitted she was unnerved by the director wanting his stars to look like normal girls, not airbrushed beauties with personal trainers.
She added: ''It was nerve-racking because, as a female, I feel like you're self-conscious about your body, a little bit.
''Fortunately he shot this movie on film which is way more forgiving than digital.''
Although it's a big departure for the actress, she is happy to keep changing her usually squeaky-clean image to keep people guessing.
She revealed: ''I just want to be able to try new things and transform myself and have audiences say, 'I cannot believe that's Vanessa Hudgens!' ''
