Vanessa Hudgens is to move away from her High School Musical image and star alongside Nicolas Cage in new thriller Frozen Ground according to deadline.com.
Frozen Ground will tell the story of Alaska's most infamous serial killer, Robert Hansen, a respected family man in the community he abducted and hunted women in the wilderness over the course of 12 years. The movie will also star John Cusack who will play Hansen with Hudgens playing a victim that manages to escape, Cage will play an Alaskan State Trooper who finds the young girl and brings the killer to justice. Production will begin in Anchorage, Alaska on October 17th and will also be the directorial debut of Scott Walker.
Vanessa Hudgens was born in California and rose to fame starring in High School Musical but began her career starring in a variety of small television roles including Drake & Josh, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and Quintuplets. However, it was starring opposite Zac Efron in the High School Musical franchise which made her a star and she has since made the transition into the movie world appearing in action adventure tale Sucker Punch. The 22-year-old actress has also released an album, V, in 2006 and has so far sold over a million copies worldwide. She is currently filming new movie, Gimme Shelter, which is the story of a pregnant girl abandoned by her father after she decides to keep her baby.
