Van Morrison performed his version of Sam Cooke's classic track 'Bring It On Home To Me' at a recent gig; while the song is instantly recognisable, it still features Morrion's own unique style. The gig was hosted at London's Porchester Hall earlier this year. Van appears on stage with his impeccable band.
The track is featured on Van Morrison's new album 'Roll With The Punches' which is set for release in September through Caroline International. The album features five new compositions by the legendary musician along with a number of cover versions, paying homage to just a few of his favourite RnB artists including: Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Bo Diddley, Mose Allison and Lightnin' Hopkins.
Having released his debut album 'Blowin' Your Mind!' in 1967, the Irish musician quickly made a name for himself as one of the best songwriters of his generation. Though his second album 'Astral Weeks' wasn't initially embraced by the public (it was greatly different to the preceding release), it went on to be considered one of the finest records Morrison ever released.
The pair will be seen teaming up with the rest of the Justice League in November.
