Rockers Vampire Weekend have pushed back the release of their new album after experiencing "unanticipated delays" in the production of the disc.

Modern Vampires of The City was set to hit stores in the first week of May (13), but will now be unveiled on 14 May (13).

A post on the band's Facebook.com page reads, "Vampire Weekend's upcoming album Modern Vampires of The City will be released on May 14, one week later than originally announced due to unanticipated delays in the production of physical copies of the record. The new date ensures that Cds and vinyl will be in stores on release day. We all worked very hard on this record and promise it will be worth the wait."
