Valerie Harper's Broadway show about late Hollywood actress Tallulah Bankhead is to close after just six weeks.
The veteran star plays the lead role in Looped, which is based on a real event in the life of Bankhead, when she showed up intoxicated on the set of 1965 movie Die! Die! My Darling! and struggled to record one line of dialogue.
Harper first performed the show in California in 2008 and took the production to the New York stage in February (10), but producers have now announced Looped will close early on Sunday (11Apr10) - amid rumours low ticket sales meant the show was barely covering costs, according to the New York Times.
