Actor Val Kilmer has praised London theatre audiences for being more intelligent than the crowds he's performed to in New York.
The notoriously hard-to-please star is currently rehearsing for his West End stage role in THE POSTMAN ALWAYS RINGS TWICE, which launches to the public next month (24MAY05).
And Kilmer is convinced he'll find the experience much more thrilling than his past stage jobs, because Broadway shows are having to dumb down to cater for the simplistic needs of New York theatre fans.
He says, "They're smarter. They read smart books. It does seem that the standard keeps deteriorating on Broadway. The show have become more (Las) Vegas-like. Theatre here just has higher standards."
The play will be performed at the British capital's Playhouse theatre.26/04/2005 13:59
