Hollywood hunk Val Kilmer has blasted the English for being too polite - claiming the nation "apologises for being alive".
The 44-year-old actor has spent months at a time filming in the UK and can't stand the Brits' manners.
Kilmer says, "In England you have to apologise for being alive. 'Excuse me, sorry I'm alive. Excuse me for existing. If you wouldn't mind.'
"It's true, isn't it?"
Despite the English people's penchant for etiquette, Kilmer loves living in London - which he considers identical to New York.
Kilmer explains, "New York, it's a lot like London. Whatever you want at 2am, you can find it."31/05/2004 21:08
