The critically-acclaimed singer is heading on a 6-date date of the UK on the back of her new album, 'Samson & Delilah.'
VV Brown has just announced a string of tour dates across the UK happening next month. Fresh from the release of her second album, Samson & Delilah, Vanessa 'V V' Brown will head out to six destinations across the UK, beginning in London on Thursday, 17 October, and ending in Bristol on Monday, 22 October.
VV Brown is back with a new album and now a tour
The singer, songwriter, producer and now a record label owner released the follow-up to her critically acclaimed debut album Travelling Like the Light through YOY Records earlier this month and as she prepares to tour the album further, across Europe and North America, VV has announced a short, back-to-back run of the country. The tour will see her try out her new material on a live audience for the first time before she heads off overseas on a more extensive, but hopefully less demanding tour.
Splitting her time between her music and her fashion label nowadays, she has by no means lost her focus in the studio as her new album has received rave reviews for her work alongside Mercury Award winning producer and The Invisible frontman Dave Okumu. As for her fashion career, her VVVintage collection was the toast of London Fashion Week and even ended up gracing the pages of Vogue. Her VVVintage 'Mary Benson Collection' will be sold after LFW 2013 in Topshop, beginning in September.
Her new album features a darker, edgier sound, one that the singer described in a recent interview as a "huge transition" that occurred during period "changed (her) as a person."
Going on to discuss what changed her tastes so dramatically, she continued, "I didn't want to make colourful pop music anymore and was really inspired by Factory Floor and Battles. I started going to a lot of live gigs and learning about music and art from a completely different place, which I had never experienced...it really opened my eyes and inspired me to make a record which was completely cohesive and consistent and had a message and identity. Even if it didn't sell or chart high it was something that was a body of work that I was completely proud of."
Samson & Delilah is out in the UK now and hit shelves across the US on 8 October.
