Usher is offering support to his ex wife Tameka Foster following the news that her son has been rendered 'brain dead' by a jet ski accident. Kyle Glover, 11, was hit by a jet ski in an accident that took place on Friday (July 6, 2012). The incident happened on Lake Lanier in Atlanta, Georgia and was initially reported on by Tmz. Usher and Tameka divorced in 2009 but US magazine reports that he is offering emotional support to her and her family, following the news that Kyle has been seriously injured in the accident.
Kyle is Tameka's foster child from a previous marriage; they also had two children together, Usher Raymond V and Naviyd. The couple are reported to have been engaged in a "heated custody battle" but it is understood that they have put their differences to one side so that Usher can offer her some support. A source told US Weekly "Tameka and Usher don't get along, but in this circumstance Usher is coming to her side. Usher practically raised Kyle as his own. He's known him for seven years. It is so sad what happened."
A number of their family and friends have offered messages of support via the social networking site Twitter. Jada Pinkett Smith, who also has an 11 year old (daughter Willow) posted a message that read "Our prayers are yours Usher, Tameka and to all those who have put love into your son. Our prayers are with you as well. Be strong." The singer Toni Braxton also wrote "My heart and prayers go out to Tameka Raymond and Usher Raymond IV during this extremely difficult time".
