Veteran rocker QUESTION MARK is devastated after his Michigan home of nearly 40 years was burned to the ground last week (ends12JAN07), killing five of his pets.
The singer, who was born RUDY MARTINEZ before legally changing his name to ?, is mourning four Yorkshire terriers and a cockatoo after the fire at his Vienna Township house.
Question Mark, who had a number one US hit with 96 TEARS with his band THE MYSTERIANS, also lost memorabilia dating back four decades, including a gold record and an organ thought to have once been owned by Pink Floyd.
But the popular musician had no insurance. He has received donations from neighbours to help him get back on his feet, and he is even talking of a star-studded benefit concert in nearby Auburn Hills, performed by local celebrities.
Question Mark tells local publication The Flint Journal, "No matter how tragic it is, if you know who you are and know what you have to offer, don't let those tragedies bring you down.
"The phone's been ringing off the hook. Why don't we do a fundraiser at The Palace so people can see our group?
"Maybe we can get BOB SEGER to take a break from his tour and have (GRAND FUNK RAILROAD star) MARK FARNER come in, Kid Rock, Uncle Kracker, Eminem, whoever's available."
Newly single Kid Rock wasted no time getting back in the dating scene and was seen partying with several blondes just days after filing for divorce from Pamela Anderson.
Following the announcement last week (27NOV06) that he and Anderson were divorcing after four months of marriage, he hit Las Vegas, Nevada over the weekend (ends03DEC06).
The singer was spotted getting cosy with an assortment of female companions in Sin City and was photographed with one busty blonde perched on top of his shoulders.
The rocker, real name, BOB RICHIE, also seemed to be making a statement with his choice of attire, sporting a T-shirt that read "Bro's before Ho's."
The singer partied with pals Uncle Kracker, Kenny Chesney and Shooter Jennings after Kracker's show in Las Vegas Friday night (01DEC06).
Seventies Britpop icon Leo Sayer is launching another comeback with a little help from Kid Rock's former sideman Uncle Kracker.
The FOLLOW ME hitmaker invited Sayer to join him in the studio while he was recording his fourth album HAPPY HOUR, and he's delighted with the sweet music they made together on the title track.
Uncle Kracker says, "The Leo Sayer track is slammin'... It sounds like some old disco song."
Sayer isn't the only blast from the past on Uncle Kracker's new album - soul stars Boyz II Men also appear on the track THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY.
British pop singer Leo Sayer has hit the studio with rapper-turned-country star Uncle Kracker to record his new single.
The 58-year-old, who enjoyed a string of massive hits in the 1970s, made a surprise return to the top of the UK singles chart in February when Dj Meck reworked his minor hit THUNDER IN MY HEART.
And Kid Rock collaborator Uncle Kracker encouraged Sayer to hit all the high notes on the track HAPPY HOUR.
Sayer says, "He got me singing in a high voice - the sound that myself, (SIR) Elton John and the Bee Gees cornered."
Rap rocker Kid Rock is set to release his first live album after listening to footage from his shows from 2000 to 2004.
Recorded at various locations in his native Michigan, LIVE TRUCKER will be released on 28 February (06).
The album features guest appearances from longtime collaborators Uncle Kracker and the late JOE C and new country sensation Gretchen Wilson, who performs a special rendition of his hit ballad PICTURE.

FOLLOW ME star Kracker likes to stay armed at all times after seeing the dangers sometimes posed on the road.
He tells American magazine FHM, "I've never used my gun, but I feel safer with it. There's been some close calls, especially back on the Kid Rock tours. There are some 'nutballs' out there, but I'm ready."14/07/2004 09:54
Celebrated ballad writer DIANE WARREN has found an unlikely new muse in KID ROCK's sidekick Uncle Kracker.
