Tyler The Creator scooped his first award last night (28.08.2011) after being awarded the 2011 VMA BEST NEW ARTIST.

The Los Angeles based rapper and leader of alternative hip-hop collective Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All accepted the award but only answered questions about his victory by whispering them into his group mate's ear. Asked about whether or not he was disappointed not to also win the VMA BEST VIDEO AWARD, instead losing out to Katy Perry "I just wanted one, I'm fine" came the answer via Odd Future'S JASPER DOLPHIN as TYLER whispered into his ear, according to MTV.com. The rapper also told the crowd he was on the verge of tears and found them hard to hold back until seeing Kanye West backstage. "It was really hard, but [the tears] came out when I fell offstage into Kanye's arms."

Tyler The Creator, real name, TYLER OKONMA's rise to fame can be credited to his role as leader of Odd Future WOLF GANG KILL (OFWGK) a group of rappers, producers, singers and artists from Los Angeles. TYLER although only 20-years-old is already no stranger to controversy and has been criticized for his use of homophobic slurs on twitter as well as in in his 2011 track 'Goblin'. He is also due to release a new album in 2012 entitled 'Wolf'.
