Tyler Perry has shared a video he made which pays tribute to the late Bobbi Kristina Brown. The tribute video was shown at a private memorial ceremony last month but Bobbi Kristina’s family have asked for it to be shared with a wider audience. The video was posted on Perry’s Facebook page on Friday (4th September).

Bobbi Kristina died at the age of 22 on July 26th. She had been hospitalised since the end of January this year after being found unresponsive in a bathtub at her Atlanta home. Her family kept the public informed with regular updates about her condition, including announcing Bobbi Kristina’s brain function was significantly diminished. After consulting with specialists and seeing her condition deteriorate, Bobbi Kristina’s family moved her into a hospice in June. She was buried at the end of July and laid to rest next to her mother at a cemetery in New Jersey.

Perry’s video, which has a running time of 3:38, features a selection of family photographs, press images and pictures posted by Bobbi Kristina on social media. It begins with a quotation from Kristina and ends with video footage of Kristina on a number of talk shows and on her reality television series, The Houstons: On Our Own. The music for the video is Houston’s 1996 single ‘You Were Loved’.

‘The Houston estate asked if I would share this tribute that I put together for Bobbi Kristina's private funeral. On behalf of the Brown and Houston families, we would all like to thank you for your prayers and support. God bless,’ Tyler wrote in the video’s caption.

Perry, who is best known for directing such films as The Single Moms Club, is a close friend of the Brown-Houston family. Before Bobbi Kristina’s death, Perry asked the media to stop speculating about her condition in order to protect her family from further pain and in an attempt to preserve the privacy of other families visiting their loved ones in the hospice.
