The slightly grainy black and white video counterpart directed by Annikki Heineman features speeded up clips of pieces of nature, regularly interrupted by flashing images of the band performing the track. It makes for a beautiful though slightly eerie effect, adding to the slow beat of the song and haunting vocals of Corrina Repp. Despite a mainly slow, regular beat, the track does cut to more upbeat instrumentation from time to time giving the song a peculiar erraticism that suits this unpredictable band to the core.
Tu Fawning (Repp, Joe Haege, Liza Rietz and Toussaint Perraultare) have seen excellent reviews across the board, being eccentrically described as 'an absinthe-drenched dance band in a decaying ballroom' with 'extraordinary' capabilities by Uncut who also added that their album is 'a brave and evocative mess'. Other reviews have also gone beyond the half-heartedly appreciative 'they are one to watch' suggestion; it's simply not a band that can be reviewed in the usual sense. Tu Fawning are set to embark on a spectacular European tour kicking off tomorrow (September 14th 2012) at Belgium's Leffingeleuren Festival and coming to a close here in the UK at London's White Heat club.
