Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Melman the Giraffe and Gloria the hippo are back in Madagascar 2, The penguins fixed an abandoned plane on the shores on Madagascar, and all the animals hatched a plan to fly off and return home to their home in central park.

Unbelievably the unlikely crew manage to take off but only take to the air for a short amount of time before crashing down in new territory, this time they find themselves in Africa, as well as being in a new land the friends find themselves surrounded by animals just like them.
