American director Roger Corman is one of the film industry's most influential directors. Born in 1926, he is best known for the numerous low budget B movies which he has directed. Not only is he influential to many of Hollywood's great directors, Corman has also launched the careers of William Shatner; Jack Nicholson and Robert De Niro, to name but a few.
Some of Corman's best known films include The Little Shop of Horrors (1960), which starred a young Nicholson; The Fall of the House of Usher (1960) which starred Vincent Price and the more recent Death Race (2008) which starred Jason Statham. Today, Corman is still making B movies and his more recent titles include Sharktopus; Dinoshark and Supergator.
The documentary details how Corman took a different view to those of his fellow directors when it came to making movies in Hollywood. The aforementioned Robert De Niro; Jack Nicholson and William Shatner recall their tales of Corman, as do actors Al Pacino and David Carradine and directors Catherine Hardwicke and Quentin Tarantino.
